If you have had your eyes and ears open for the past few months, you will have already heard of the latest offering from Canon, the new Canon 7D SLR. The goal, which has been well achieved from this camera, was to market to professional photographers whom wish to purchase a good quality, long-lasting and intelligent camera.

Unlike many other digital cameras in its class, the Canon 7D has the ability to shoot incredibly high quality videos, as well as photographs of equal caliber. The video camera can be used in three different quality settings, from 640 x 480 pixel SD video, 1280 x 720 HD video to 1980 x 1080 HD quality videos, with the memory used for each increasing accordingly. Personally, I have found this feature extremely valuable for advertising my business, I write a photography blog and like to insert video snippets from my day and of what has inspired me; it brings a new level to how I can communicate with my clients.

This is a very strong and robust camera, which is vital for the varying styles of shoot that I partake in. Living near the beach, I often find the idealic scene nearby, but the fear of dust entering my lens and causing an expensive catastrophe to my equipment often puts me off unpacking my cameras whilst it is windy. I do not need to worry about this with the new Canon 7D, as this is an area which has been thought of already by the manufacturer; it can go anywhere and be ready at any time.
With a huge rating of 18 mega pixels, the Canon digital SLR far outshines its equally priced competitors on the market currently. No other is able to boast of a 19 point cross-type auto focus system either; it is simply head and shoulders above the rest.
When comparing this particular model to its predecessor, the 50D, many features set them miles apart. The Canon 7D has a 1/0x magnification option and a setting to shoot at 8 frames per second; this is extremely fast and allows other photographers such as myself to use the camera in more diverse and challenging situations than they have been able to previously.
Any keen photographer with some experience will find that after sampling this camera that it has an awful lot to offer them; be it the crisp image results or the robustness of the strong casing. I personally use my 7D as a day-to-day workhorse, simply because it can be used for any style of photography. I have a tripod for it as I have found it also takes stunning evening and night-time shots, I have become addicted to carrying it around everywhere with me.
Here is an honest and frank review of the camera, which I have been discussing above.
